A case study is a “holistic inquiry that investigates a contemporary phenomenon within its natural setting” (Scholz & Tietje, 2002). The intrinsic case study helps to learn from the different sources available. A holistic case study needs a qualitative approach that depends on narrative, phenomenological descriptions whereas the embedded study involves more than one unit of analysis which is not restricted to the qualitative approach (Scholz & Tietje, 2002).
